Mfantsiman Girls Senior High School, located in Saltpond in Ghana’s Central Region, is a historic institution founded by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah in 1960 to promote girls’ education. In recent years, the school has faced severe water shortages due to declining rainfall and low water levels at the Baifikrom Dam, affecting daily life for students and staff. Water Solutions for Africa (USA), in partnership with Solutions for Safe Water – Ghana, is now raising funds to construct a borehole system on campus. Once completed, the project will provide more than 5,000 students and teachers with reliable access to clean, safe water—improving health, sanitation, and learning conditions.
